Geneva

Geneva's ANIMATOU international animation festival opens the doors to its 19th edition on 03 October, from 8.30pm to 10.30pm, at the Alhambra, with a free screening of the International Competition 1 programme "Opening Night".

This first evening will open with trailers created by Bachelor in Illustration students. Under the direction of Marcel Barelli, animation film director, these trailers were created during a dedicated workshop last February.
The students who took part in this workshop will also be members of the juries for the Labo Competition programme on Monday 7 October (in the auditorium and conference room of the Bâtiment d'Art Contemporain, from 6.30 to 8.30 pm). The jury is made up of HEAD students Justine Margueron, Emma Minicelli, Sarah Courtade, Yannick Twizerimana, Melchior Best and Correa Fagundes, accompanied by Olivier Riechsteiner, animation teacher on the Bachelor of Illustration programme.

On Saturday 05 October, from 14:00 to 15:30, the "Meeting and presentation of Swiss art and design schools" will bring together works produced by the HEAD - Geneva, the Cfp Arts - ESBDI Geneva, the Ceruleum Lausanne and the HSLU Lucerne. The HEAD - Geneva will be presenting the trailers, two diploma works in animation from the Bachelor Illustration programme: "Les yeux kalédioscope" by Maïlys Deck and "Wholesome" by Kerralie Fragnière, and a diploma work in animation from the Bachelor in Cinema programme: "Mawtini" by Tabarak Abbas, which has won numerous awards. The directors will be present.
