The Geneva canton entity «Direction Praille Acacias Vernets» (DPAV) manages and coordinates the urban development of a formerly industrial zone. The project perimeter covers an area located in the centre of the «Praille Acacias Vernets» area and is named «Étoile» after the Park and Ride infrastructure building «P+R de l’Étoile». It extends some hundred meters, including the historical Sicli Pavilion and the current construction site activities for the Campus Pictet de Rochemont. Located in a very dense urban area, an optimized management of underground infrastructure will be a crucial issue for its development and level of attractiveness.
The InnoSubsurface methodology for modelling underground infrastructure will be applied to create a model of existing objects, thereby improving stakeholder’s communication and coordination. Its complete 3D volumetric representation accepts incomplete datasets and provides a confidence level for the position of each created object. The resulting model can potentially be used for validation of planned subsurface works. It could also be enhanced by incorporating data from field investigations.
