The treatment of polluted road runoff in urban areas is a current issue in the field of wastewater management. The VSA guideline «Management of Urban Water During Rainfall» emphasizes the necessity of separately collecting polluted road runoff and treating it before discharge into the receiving environment.
For Avenue Wendt, the solution considered by the City of Geneva, in collaboration with the OCEau, involves implementing a water collection system specifically dedicated to road runoff over a stretch of approximately 600 metres. A calibrated overflow structure will help prevent overloading the wastewater networks during heavy rainfall by diverting excess, low-pollution water to the receiving water body, the Rhône River.
The services assigned to HEPIA consist of laboratory analyses to assess the measurement uncertainties of flow measurement devices under various hydraulic conditions.
