This project will clinically validate LaxiPed, a device developed at HEPIA in collaboration with HEIG-VD, that provides a quantitative assessment of foot biomechanics for patients suffering from hallux valgus, facilitating surgical decision-making.
Hallux valgus affects one in three people and often requires surgery. This condition is linked to forefoot instability, currently detected through manual examinations.
The project includes three clinical studies that will develop a device and a scale for assessing foot laxity. Funded by Innosuisse, the project brings together different research and clinical groups based in Geneva, Switzerland.
