Monitoring of the use of the area by wild boar in the Creux‐du‐Van sector
The Creux‐du‐Van is a nature protection zone located in the canton of Neuchâtel. This protection status is favourable to the local fauna and the wild boar in particular. Due to the local concentration of this species, the grasslands bordering the nature protection zone suffer significant and constantly growing damage. Thus, the cantonal hunting inspector decided to carry out a study on the use of the area by this species and its population dynamics, in order to improve oversight of management of the damage. This study is a preliminary project to prepare a more extensive study on the population dynamics of wild boar in the region.
