The SPAR-GEN project aims to study the habitats and spatial distribution of Sparganium emersum genotypes in the Rhône. The results will provide a better understanding of the spatial variability of this intraspecific diversity in the Rhône hydrosystem and examine gene flows within and between the populations sampled.
The overall aim of this work is to draw up a map of genotypes and associated environments on the scale of the French Rhône for use by managers and nurserymen to guide them in their choice of reintroduction strategies.
