SOMA is a collaborative project between HEPIA, the Universities of Nice and Lorraine and INRIA-Bordeaux that aims to develop a computing machine with self-organizing properties inspired by the functioning of the brain. The SCALP platform, a set of FPGAs and processors with a 3D topology, has been designed to evaluate self-organizing mechanisms on cellular machines. Algorithms based on cellular self-organizing maps are the basis of the self-adaptation properties.
