This project is in line with the Federal Office for the Environment's project to promote biodiversity and landscape quality in agglomerations, and more specifically with its Swiss Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan.
The project aims to provide information for the promotion of biodiversity and landscape quality in the built environment, in partnership with the ZHAW (Zurich University of Applied Sciences). The main themes of this study are the greening of facades and roofs and animal assisted design (AAD). The goal is to compile information on the analysis of good practice examples, the state of knowledge, limitations, etc. throughout Switzerland. The study conducted by HEPIA focuses on the French-speaking part of Switzerland.
The summary document will be used in various forms of communication with cantonal and municipal administrations and with actors in the private sector of land use planning and construction (architects, construction companies, investors and property developers).
