The Electroacoustic room sensor for safety (EARSENS) project aims to develop a new technology for monitoring parameters related to safety in buildings.
The concept intends to combine physical acoustics, audio engineering and artificial intelligence to interpret the specific room modes. It is based on a conventional loudspeaker turned into an acoustic impedance sensor.
We use the device to monitor indoor activity, such as the opening and closing of doors and windows, unusual rise or fall in temperature or the presence of people.
