The Durance is a Mediterranean river, which has been heavily developed for hydroelectricity and irrigation. Beyond the natural variability of the environment specific to the Mediterranean regime, the management of dams also influences fish populations.
The objective of this project is to determine the main «environmental drivers» that explain the variability in space and time of fish populations. The impact of dams and their management is integrated insofar as they modify the flow and concentrations of suspended solids.
This project consists of a compilation and statistical analysis of all the environmental and piscicultural data available on the Durance between Sisteron and Cadarache.
