Ecology and Aquatic Systems Engineering group – EISA

The research subjects and services developed within the EISA group are built around the sustainable management of lotic and lentic aquatic ecosystems.

In particular, they target ecological diagnostics, the restoration and ecological monitoring of habitats and species. Emphasis is placed on problems arising from local or global disruptions related to human activity.

Main research topics

  • Ecological diagnostic of ecosystems
  • Impact of climate change on ecosystems and species
  • Ecology and conservation of threatened habitats and species
  • Management of fishery resources
  • Restoration of ecosystems and ecological continuity
  • Artificial and urban ecosystems

Research projects are developed in close partnership with other institutions (universities, public research institutions, museums, botanical gardens) and professionals (administrations, associations, consultancy firms, managers, companies active in the field and other practitioners). Participation in various projects in Europe and on other continents contributes to the development of international relations.
