J-PARC, a research institute located in Japan, operates one of the most intense proton accelerators in the world. J-PARC hosts T2K, one of the world’s leading experiments for neutrino research. Neutrinos are a key focus of research that could challenge the Standard Model of physics. A recent upgrade of the T2K experiment, aimed at increasing efficiency and improving facility management, resulted from a collaboration between J-PARC and researchers from HEPIA (inTECH) and the University of Geneva in Switzerland.
