The TURN project responds to the need to accelerate the energy and climate transition of our society, notably through greater energy efficiency of the existing building fabric and less dependence on non-renewable energies, especially in the context of the current geopolitical crisis. Current experiences show that energy renovation cannot be solved by technological solutions alone, but that it implies the removal of several socio-economic obstacles.
In this context, the mission of the TURN project is to develop an interdisciplinary approach in the planning of the energy transition of existing urban districts. It seeks to better understand, according to the actors, the perceptions of the obstacles, the direct and indirect benefits of energy renovation. It is interested in putting the renovation into perspective with the question of social inequalities in the different districts of Geneva. It aims to propose actions and levers to encourage homeowners to renovate, mobilize actors and coordinate them around common processes.
