The Soil Analysis Laboratory is historically the successor of the Cantonal Agronomy Laboratory, itself a descendant of the Agricultural Chemistry Service created in 1894.
Nowadays, the laboratory is attached to the Agronomy branch of HEPIA.
The laboratory performs services, Research & Development and teaching tasks.
The laboratory is recognized by the Swiss Confederation for soil analysis in regards to prestations écologiques requises (PER) as well as for analysis of heavy metal contents according to the Ordinance relating to impacts on the soil (OIS, FR : OSol).
