Applied acoustics laboratory

Applied acoustics laboratory

The applied acoustics laboratory carries out theoretical and experimental studies in acoustic and vibration engineering, and develops its activities for the following missions:

  • Teaching in the Micro-techniques curriculum
  • Applied research and development (aR&D)
  • Mandates for the provision of services

The business expertise of the laboratory relates to the analysis and development of acoustic and electro-acoustic systems, the experimental characterisation of acoustic and vibration sources and the ability to propose and implement innovative technical solutions in the characterisation of sound fields and the reduction of noise and vibrations.

The laboratory makes its skills and know-how available in the following fields:

  • Modelling and simulation of acoustic and electro-acoustic systems
  • Vibro-acoustic characterisation of equipment and sources of noise and vibration
  • Active control of noise and vibrations
  • Measurement and calculation of level of exposure to external noise
  • Measurement of the acoustic absorption coefficient of materials
  • Evaluation of the performance of electro-acoustic transducers
Équipement(s):

The applied acoustics laboratory has dedicated test equipment and the instrumentation necessary to the experimental characterisation of acoustic and electro-acoustic systems, and to the vibro-acoustic study of mechanical structures:
