Animal ecology laboratory

In parallel with the external services provided by the UDRN qualification group, the animal ecology laboratory provides services related to the study of land animal populations (vertebrates), particularly:

  • animal dissection
  • food analyses
  • analyses and sections of hair
  • preparation of capture and marking equipment
Équipement(s): 

In the context of the study and monitoring of terrestrial fauna, the laboratory has the following equipment:

  • VHF (Very High Frequency) and GPS (Global Positioning System) telemetry equipment
  • photographic traps for large and small vertebrates (such as amphibians)
  • thermal camera and light amplifier
  • tri-dimensional acoustic trajectography kit
  • traps and passive marking equipment (notably for wild boars)
  • track tunnels (monitoring mustelids)
  • laser rangefinder
  • drones

As part of the study on traffic on natural sites, the laboratory also has eco-meters.
