Soil organisms directly or indirectly control most soil ecosystem functions and services. However, the relationship between soil quality and soil biodiversity remains very poorly understood.
The BioDivSol project includes around sixty farms of the Jura canton, engaged in the Terres Vivantes program (FOAG project 77a), which is coordinated by the Fondation Rurale Inter-jurassienne.
The main objective in BioDivSol is to define the biological quality of cultivated soils. More specifically, the project aims to clarify the relationships between soil organic matter content and quality, physico-chemical quality, biological quality, soil types and cropping systems.
The BioDivSol project will make it possible to highlight the determining parameters and reference values for the soil biological quality in cultivated soils.
