The HEdS-Geneva had the pleasure of welcoming a delegation from Oklahoma State University (USA), composed mainly of Nursing and Public Health students, as part of the first stage of their academic stay in Switzerland.

This visit provided an opportunity for enriching discussions on the Swiss and American healthcare systems, nursing education, research, and interprofessional collaboration. The exchanges also highlighted the specific features of educational pathways and professional practices in both countries.

HEdS-Geneva students then took part in a discussion session entitled “Being a student at HEdS”, focusing on student life in Geneva and the cultural and academic differences between the two institutions. It was a convivial moment that encouraged the sharing of experiences.

The visit continued at the Interprofessional Simulation Centre (CIS), with an immersion in clinical practices and simulation facilities. A presentation on the Geneva University Hospitals (HUG) by Geneviève Opprecht also addressed several key topics, including advanced nursing practice in Switzerland, interprofessional collaboration, as well as clinical approaches in geriatrics and fall prevention.

This visit illustrates the importance of international exchanges in the education of future healthcare professionals and further strengthens the academic ties between Geneva and its international partners.
