Nadia Radwan

Nadia Radwan, PhD, is Associate Professor and Head of the Visual Arts Department at HEAD – Genève (HES-SO). An art historian and curator, her research focuses on modern and contemporary art in non-Western contexts, particularly in the Middle East, feminist art histories, and forms of resistance and resilience in contemporary art. She also investigates curatorial approaches and artistic interventions in public space from a gender and decolonial perspective. She is the co-founder of manazir platform and editor in chief of its journal. Radwan is currently leading together with Federica Martini the research project The Bronze Ceiling, supported by the Centre Maurice Chalumeau, University of Geneva (CMCSS) and HEAD – Genève, which examines questions of absences and gender in public sculpture. She is also co-curator, with Vasif Kortun, of the exhibition we refuse_d (Mathaf, Doha; M HKA, Antwerp).
