The wearable devices will be endowed with simple communication capabilities, such that they can read information from beacons pre- installed in the environment, and relay such information to other wristbands and to the master tablet\/smartphone application. The novelty of our solution lies in the development of algorithms to properly and safely deal with this information to estimate relative localization, the proximity of out-of-sight users to other users, and to detect potential threats.
