Raphaël Pieroni

A geographer by training, Raphaël Pieroni obtained his doctoral thesis on the international mobility of cultural policies at the University of Geneva in 2017 under the supervision of Prof. Jean-François Staszak. He is head of the Agora pole of the HES-SO Geneva interdisciplinary center for the transition of cities and territories (CITÉ), and is a researcher at the Geneva University of Art and Design (HEAD – Geneva, HES-SO) since 2023 where he works as a scientific assistant on the FNS project "Faire le Monde - Premiers globetrotters et tours du monde touristiques". His research focuses on current practices and geographical imaginations of world tours.
