Lluís Alexandre Casanovas Blanco

Lluís Alexandre Casanovas Blanco is an architect, curator, and academic based in Madrid. He is a curator and scientific advisor for the New Architecture and Design Collection and the Education Department at the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía. He curated the 2016 Oslo Architecture Triennale with the firm After Belonging. He earned a PhD from Princeton University and was a 2017-18 Helena Rubinstein Critical Studies Fellow at the Whitney Independent Study Program, and a fellow at Princeton’s IKKM-Weimar Summer School for Media Studies in 2016. His design work has been recognized with several awards, including the 2018 Simon Architecture Prize, the 2019 Bauwelt Prize, and the 2017 FAD Prize for Architectural Theory and Criticism. He was a finalist in the Lisbon Triennale Millennium bcp Debut Award 2019 for architects under 35. His writings have appeared in publications such as Volume, Plot, Movement Research Performance Journal, Millennium Film Journal, and El País newspaper, among others.
