Charles Joseph

Associate professor at Mans University (France), Charles Joseph obtained a doctorate in North American cultural studies. His dissertation, entitled Being and Writing (from) Los Angeles: Wanda Coleman, analyzes how the work of the African-American author constitutes a history opposed to that of a city that has become historicized through the media. He is also interested in the implications and practices of the world-famous Los Angeles-based entertainment industry on the city's history and the formation of its sociocultural identity.
