KICK-OFF
September 2023 to October 2023
Studio led by Line Fontana and David Fagart (Fagart & Fontana)
Assisted by Maria Clara Castioni and Lola Jutzeler
As part of the kick-off, each student is assigned a house from a selection spanning the 20th century to the present day. These houses reflect the era to which they belong and illustrate the concerns of architects regarding geography, climate, construction techniques, materiality, as well as the attention given by these architects to interiors, addressing the needs and uses related to a lifestyle. Through four architectural fragments, each student transcribes the essence of the analyzed house, meaning the expression of its fundamental constituent elements. Plans, sections, and axonometries are the representation tools used to illustrate these fragments, tailored to each house and the perspective taken on its fundamental elements. Each student creates a 1/50 scale model, using identical white cardboard for the entire workshop. Depending on the analysis axes of the house, a part of the model is detachable.
