The practice of historical instruments course is designed for musicians who are trained as modern instrumentalists but are interested in an in-depth, effective approach to early (especially seventeenth- and eighteenth-century) music.
The course is essentially meant to train musicians who intend to devote part of their professional career to the practice of early music. However, the philological and theoretical training that is provided in the early music course is limited; the focus is on music practice and its specific features: playing techniques, ornamentation, improvisation.
An early keyboard instruments option is also available. The major is then divided between two instruments chosen from the following: harpsichord, clavichord, fortepiano, organ.
