The only one of its kind in ChantSwitzerland, the Jaques-Dalcroze education course is designed for instrumentalists, music or dance teachers, educators and psychomotor therapists with a bachelor’s or equivalent degree. It enables students to learn the basic principles of Jaques-Dalcroze education and apply them in their own professions.

Main goals
- Experiencing, testing and studying the basic principles of Jaques-Dalcroze education and how to apply them in the students’ own professions
- Encouraging and developing personal expression in music and movement
- Working on the links between hearing and movement, musicality of movement and motor adaptability of the body
Four modules, plus a graduation projet
1. Jaques-Dalcroze eurhythmics
2. Jaques-Dalcroze solfège
3. Jaques-Dalcroze Improvisation
4. Specific discussions and classes: study of the basic principles of Jaques-Dalcroze education and their application in the students’ own professions, reading and reflection on the subjects studied, practical exercises, and attendance at summer classes and practical training weeks.
The course concludes with a dissertation and an audiovisual recording focusing on the use of Jaques-Dalcroze techniques in the student’s professional practice.
