The recording studio is a professional infrastructure available for use by all the students and teachers at the "Haute école de musique Genève – Neuchâtel" and by projects in which the university is a partner. It is a key resource for disseminating and keeping records of the university’s main artistic events.
It is also a research tool with a crucial teaching function, enabling musicians to become listeners and critics of their own performance and thereby creating a link between performers’ musical intentions and their impact on listeners. The precision of recording also allows the slightest flaws in text or performance to be detected, so that musicians can perfect their work.
Finally, the studio is a tool for students taking basic acoustics and audio engineering classes. Students and teachers can have recordings made by the studio for teaching activities at the HEM or when applying for scholarships, Erasmus exchanges (Swiss-European mobility programme) or admission to competitive examinations.
