HEM chamber orchestra
The HEM Chamber Orchestra was founded in 2021 under the impulse of a number of HEM professors, all of whom are concert artists with international careers. Most of the time playing without a conductor, this chamber orchestra is led by a college of professors who play alongside brilliant students of the HEM, selected by audition.
The size of the ensemble is flexible and is adapted to each project. Whether it is a string orchestra, a wind ensemble, a hybrid ensemble for premieres or a Mannheim ensemble, this new ensemble combines individual teaching, chamber music and in-depth orchestral practice.
As an ambassador for a cosmopolitan and international Geneva, this outstanding ensemble initiates transversal experiences with other universities such as the HEAD or the Manufacture and creates links with other actors of Geneva's cultural life such as the Concours de Genève, the Grand Théâtre or the Bellerive Festival. It also creates links with the alumni of the HEM and interdepartmental interactions by calling upon numerous disciplines such as composition, multimedia, dance or even, why not, theatre.
