Keyboard instruments department
The Keyboard Instruments Department pursues a long tradition of piano and organ teaching in Geneva. The piano classes begun by Franz Liszt back in 1835 have been given by such illustrious teachers as Dinu Lipatti and Nikita Magaloff, and to this day are still one of the school’s most famous sections. The organ classes have access to the region’s leading instruments.
The main disciplines taught are piano, piano accompaniment (including a vocal coach option in partnership with the Grand Théâtre de Genève), organ and guitar. The fortepiano, the harpsichord and the clavichord are taught in the Early Music Department.
