Applicants for Master of Arts course must have a Bachelor’s degree or a qualification in higher education that is deemed equivalent (licence or diploma from a Swiss university of music or from a recognised conservatory or university).
Admission to Master of Arts courses at the "Haute école de musique de Genève " is by competitive examination, in three stages. Applicants must first submit application documents. They will then be invited to take a practical examination in Geneva and an admission interview. For some Master of Arts courses there will also be a second practical examination. The results will be forwarded to the admissions board, which will make a final decision.
One month before the date of the practical examination, applicants will receive a written invitation stating the place and time of the examination, as well as the designated accompanist’s contact details. Applicants have to get in touch with the accompanist to provide details of their chosen repertoire, especially if it is one that is seldom played. Only the designated accompanist may accompany applicants during the test.
