Demian Conrad est un designer, chercheur et directeur de création qui a écrit plusieurs livres sur le design.

Depuis 2007, il dirige Automatico Studio, un atelier de graphisme spécialisé dans les identités visuelles, le design éditorial et la signalétique. Le studio a remporté trois prix consécutifs : 100 Beste Plakate (2009-2011), premier prix aux European Design Awards (2013), ainsi que le prestigieux Art Director Club Award (2017).

Des collaborations à long terme de Conrad comprennent des identités visuelles pour l'EPFL (École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne), du design d'expositions pour le Grand Palais à Paris, le design éditoriale pour les éditions Espazium, la campagne publicitaire pour Art Basel et la refonte de l’identité visuelle pour la Zarattini Bank.

Membre de l'Alliance Graphique Internationale depuis 2017, les œuvres de Conrad sont conservées dans plusieurs collections publiques et privées, dont le Museum für Gestaltung de Zurich et les Archives de Chaumont. En 2012, le studio a également participé à l'exposition 100 Years of Swiss Graphic Design au Museum für Gestaltung à Zurich.

Conrad enseigne à la HEAD-Genève ou il a développé un projet expérimental, le Center for Future Publishing, un espace où la technologie croise le design. De 2019 à 2021 il a mené un projet de recherche, soutenu par une bourse du fonds stratégique de la HES-SO, sur le code créatif qui a abouti à un livre de 600 pages Graphic Design in the Post-Digital Age publié par Onomatopee (NL).

Demian Conrad is a designer, researcher and creative director who has authored several books on design.

Since 2007, he has headed up Automatico Studio, a multidisciplinary consultancy that works on visual identities, editorial design and way-finding. The studio has won three consecutive awards: 100 Beste Plakate (2009–2011), first prize at the European Design Awards (2013), as well as the prestigious Art Director Club Award (2017).

Conrad’s long-term collaborations include visual identities for the EPFL (Swiss Federal Institutes of Technology), exhibition design for the Grand Palais in Paris, editorial design for Espazium publishing, ad campaign for Art Basel and corporate design for the Zarattini Bank.

A member of the Alliance Graphique Internationale since 2017, Conrad’s works are held in several public and private collections, including the Zurich Museum of Design and the Chaumont Archive. In 2012, the studio also participated in the exhibition 100 Years of Swiss Graphic Design at the Museum für Gestaltung in Zurich.

Conrad currently also teaches at HEAD-Genève, where is he has also been developing an experimental project, the Center for Future Publishing, a space where technology intersects with design. From 2019 to 2021 has been running a research project, supported by a grant from the HES-SO strategic fund, on creative coding which resulted in a 600 pages book “Graphic Design in the Post-Digital Age” published by Onomatopee (NL).
